Preparing for Catastrophe with Site Audits
Preparing for Catastrophe with Site Audits, can be scary
Learn how implementing site audits into your maintenance management system allows you to reduce the manual back and forth between site managers significantly.
In 2017, after a devastating hurricane season, one of our nationwide retail drugstore clients was deeply affected.
The chain was hit by all three major hurricanes, Harvey, Irma and Maria, within the span of a few months leaving little room to begin to evaluate the full impact of these hurricanes.
After Hurricane Harvey, the client lost their ability to serve clients safely and effectively at many of their store locations. Sites had flooded, the stock was lost, parking lots were underwater, and many sites were left without power.
The first week after the hurricane, the client asked Accruent to determine if their CMMS could help them process their work orders to get each site back to operating capacity. It would be no easy feat, but we were up to the task.
After discussions with the client, Our teams implemented site audits into the maintenance management system. This vital tool allows our clients to send surveys to each site manager to evaluate certain operations such as power generators, parking lot conditions, critical equipment, etc. to significantly reduce the manual back and forth between site managers without our CMMS. The client created a 25-question survey that each site received, completed, and sent back into the system to generate work orders within the same day that work orders were placed.
Dashboard to manage facilities and assets.
As a result, the client was back online sooner than if they had conducted each site audit separately and manually entered each work order for each site. Instead, they were getting basic groceries, medicines, and essentials weeks to their communities ahead of schedule, and helping to rebuild communities that were devastated by Hurricane Harvey.
With their newly implemented process in place, the client navigated the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria quickly and efficiently.
